ABOUT US

We started New Grooves Gallery in 2020, during the second UK lockdown, with the aim of celebrating newfound creativity at a time where individuals were in need of a distraction.

Mental health and the arts are subjects which are close to both our hearts, so when we started seeing individuals drawing on diverse creative practices in order to pass the time, escape reality, or express their emotions, we were inspired!

Since then, we have exhibited the work of around 90 individuals, all of which have shared their personal experiences with us over the last year, relating to creativity and outside of it. We have been so grateful for these interactions and have been blown away by the support of this platform and our contributors.

We have seen the work of outsider, emerging and established artists alike; some of who have been studying and finessing their work, others who are still experimenting, and many who are entirely new to this realm - who simply enjoy the act of creating

We aren’t sure where New Grooves Gallery will go next, however we’d like to celebrate all our contributor’s work by exhibiting their creations in person, to commemorate their efforts and thank them for their honesty and openness throughout this time.

Thanks for being here,

Eleanor & Zoë
